CCP (Cyclic Citrullinated Peptide Antibody)

Cyclic citrullinated peptide (CCP) antibody testing detects and measures CCP antibodies in the blood. CCP antibodies are produced by the immune system and can mistakenly attack healthy tissues.

A CCP antibody test requires a blood sample. This test is used to help diagnose or rule out rheumatoid arthritis and to assess its potential severity. Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disorder in which the body attacks healthy cells in a person’s joints.
